American Academy of Pediatrics Breastfeeding Initiatives

American Academy of Pediatrics

Positive breastfeeding support from physicians, nurses, and other health professionals has been shown to increase the initiation and duration of breastfeeding. Mothers care what their doctors and nurses think about breastfeeding and communicating a positive message can make all the difference in how they choose to feed their children. The American Academy of Pediatrics works diligently to ensure that health professionals are educated about breastfeeding and able to support breastfeeding families.
